On every corner you saw them carrying the banner, bringing you the news for a penny a pape. Poor orphans and runaways, the newsies were a ragged army, with a leader, until one day, all that changed . . . |
Thus begins a great David and Goliath musical about children's rights. While Disney has certainly put a happier spin on things than actually occurred it still moved me to think about kids my age and younger influencing our lives for the better.
