Newsies

Fearless Leaders In 1899, the streets of New York City echoded with the voices of newsies peddling the newspapers of Joseph Pulitzer, William Randolph Hearst, & other giants of the newspaper world. On every corner you saw them carrying the banner, bringing you the news for a penny a pape. Poor orphans and runaways, the newsies were a ragged army, with a leader, until one day, all that changed . . .

Thus begins a great David and Goliath musical about children's rights. While Disney has certainly put a happier spin on things than actually occurred it still moved me to think about kids my age and younger influencing our lives for the better. I have decided to put together this list of links for anyone interested in the movie or even the true story.
