The Model Letter

Ladies and Gentlemen! We finally have what you have all been waiting for! Here is a model letter that you can revise to fit your own needs and send to the producers or networks. You can send a copy of this letter, with your own signature, to the following address (then you write it down, I don't have it right here). It would be better if you could write every week, in order to sink the channel under with our letters so that they would have to care. And don't forget that this kind of action has been very useful in the past. After the third season of "Quantum Leap", ABC wanted to stop the show. The leapers (fans) wrote so many times to the channel that the next fall, the show was back on the air. So never give up and keep hoping! We have 7 months before the beginning of the new season - 7 months to get "Players" back!

Dear Mr./Ms. ____________,

We are all fans of the show Players which was canceled even before we had a chance to see the last two episodes. We sincerely regret this cancellation and hope strongly that you will take our letters into consideration and put "Players" back on.

Realizing that it's all a numbers and money game, we will of course support Players, write and/or email letters to sponsors, etc. if we have to. We are the audience and you are supposed to listen to us. We should have spoken up sooner, but we are speaking up now. We believe that you should, once again, give "Players" a chance along with the fans so that we can show you that "Players" is a great show. It just needed a better time slot and a little more time to grow into its own just as did The Sentinel and The X-Files. Players would have attracted more and more fans as the show matured. Don't forget that this is often the case. The first season of The X-Files ended with a rank average of 85th and Star Trek Voyager ended with a rank average of 106th. Look at them now!

Never mind what the critics may say, we love our show and we are more numerous than they. The only difference between the critics and the fans is that we don't have a weekly column to write about what we like and don't like. We want to be heard and you have the power to change that: to make us count. Ice, Alphonse, Charlie and Chris, hope to see you soon back on our sets.

Sincerely,

Let me know
what you think!
